Introduction to Social Media Marketing

Although working in a prominent technology environment, and studying a IT course, this week has taken me through the basis of "What exactly is Social Media Marketing??". Although i use the internet daily and take part in a few different variations of social media, including facebook and youtube, i still need to sit back to and really take into count what the interet has to offer via social media to the business and marketing sector.

The internet is a very powerful tool to reach a mass audience with little to no physical effort involved. The internet and its extensive range of marketing tools should be embraced by all business. I think in this day and ages that  ALL business should have some sort of internet presence. Whether this be a Facebook page, or a full blown dedicated website.

KOGAN promised all customers  that if they could find a cheaper TV (any brand, and some sort of proof must be shown) cheaper then any one of there own brand TVs (must be same size, quality etc) they would give them the TVs to the customer free of charge.

This works well in both ways.. the business gains a large amount of hype and promotion through their customers reaction, and customers who do find themselves receiving a free tv are extremely happy with their product and the business, which again in turn creates more excess hype.
